WELCOME & INTRODUCTIONS OF PARENT COUNCIL
TMC ADMIN
REPORT
Phones/Email
will be updated Friday so parents will not be able to call or email in and
calls/emails cannot be made from the school either. Network is being upgraded and we are one of
two schools involved in the pilot project to do so
Student lates
There are many
students arriving late on a regular basis every morning. There are 20-50
students arriving after the bell and that causes a disruption in the classes as
well as more work for the office with additional administrative tasks around a
late student. Please ensure your child is getting to school on time every day.
Lunches
Please
ensure that you are sending your child to school with their lunch in the
mornings. There are sometimes up to 40 lunches that are dropped off daily for
students. It is a huge administrative workload to get the lunches to the
children.
Traffic
Updates
The No U-Turn sign in front of the school will be moved to be more
visible. The no stopping zone sign will
be moved. The addition of a painted crosswalk will be added to the crossing
directly in front of the school. The
next Traffic Rally will be held on April 20 after school being at TMC and
moving over to St. Basil and Tuscany School
Conferences
Website
opens at 8am Saturday April 9 to book conferences. Every parent will have time
to speak with the teacher during the allotted time. If you would like a 1 on 1
conversation a separate time will need to be arranged with the teacher.
Peter Pan
Drama Production
Electronic ticket booking system will be used to book spots
at each performance. Each family that has a child in the production will be set
aside 4 tickets. TMC students will be able to watch the production at one of
the two daytime performances.
April 27 11-12 50 spots;
1:45-2:45 50 spots
April 28
6:30-7:30 350-400 spots
Zinc
Saves Lives
Being organized by the Leadership Group, you can bring in your household
batteries and they will be sent to an organization that creates zinc pills from
the batteries and sent to third world countries to be given to people with poor
diets that are low in zinc. Send and bring in your batteries!
New
School Website
The CBE is
rebuilding the school websites which will be up and running from May-August
sometime
New updated
mass email system coming soon
Bill 10
Goal is to create a safe community for kids. CBE has
drafted new policies and admin regulations and have forwarded them on to the
Alberta Government to be accepted
Engagement
Opportunities
Grade 5
trip to Waterton National Park Science Camp
60 available spots for students. Trip is scheduled for next May and is
fully paid for. Off sight activities will be planned for students who do not go
on the trip. Discussion was held as to how the students should be chosen to
attend. Should it be done as a lottery? Some parents felt like it should be all
or none if not all children able to go. Some children felt extremely left out
from the last trip.

The new
modernization project is under funded by quite a bit, a large part of it will
remain incomplete until more funding is secured. Marion has been contacting
people and writing letters to get more funding approved. If you are wanting to
submit a letter yourself to bring attention to the issue Marion has the info of who to send it to and can provide
