TWELVE MILE COULEE SCHOOL COUNCIL MEETING

CALL TO ORDER-7:02pm
APPROVAL OF MINUTES FROM LAST MEETING-motioned by Nkechi O-S,
seconded by Lori H, all in favour, motion passed
WELCOME & INTRODUCTIONS OF PARENT COUNCIL
TMC ADMIN
REPORT
- Thank you for supporting the Kernels Popcorn Fundraiser, in total it raised $3000. The kids had a great time and felt empowered executing their idea.
- Admin Secretary has been busy and is still placing teachers and grade teams for next year, won’t be complete until the end of June.
- Staff is busy making class lists
- Next year plans are being talked about
- Grade 8 Open Minds, week long experience, Vivo, UofC
- Grade 9 Open Minds
- Grade 5 Waterton Eco System Investigators, 90 spots available, will most likely be run as a club, more info will be sent out to parents about the trip to give families time to plan.
- Banfield Trip-looking at what the interest is for next year, want to give families time to plan
- Traffic Rally has been rescheduled
- Art & Soul has morphed into the Learning Celebration (CTF)
- Successful evening
- Looking for feedback, positive and negative
- Nice for families to see what the older grades are doing
- Some felt like the students were not communicated to very well about what the night was about, better communication next time
- Better feel than the student led conferences
- Program for each grade for parents so they know what to expect, more details on the map
- Work to coincide the Learning Celebration evening better with other schools including Robert Thirsk
- Spoke with the students about the tragedy that happened in our community
