Introduction of TMC School new Principal S. Reading
We would like to welcome our new principle
of Twelve Mile Coulee School, Mrs. Shelagh Reading. Mrs. Reading comes to us from Dr. Gordon
Townsend School and University School.
Mrs. Reading shared a wonderful commitment
statement that she wrote for the parents and students of TMC:
My Commitment
to You
I will first seek to understand.
I believe that student success needs to be at the
center of every decision.
I will support the Twelve Mile Coulee School staff to
continue to provide rich and engaging learning experiences for the Twelve Mile
Coulee School students.
I will listen.
I will take the time to understand the issues, to do
my homework, and explore solutions before making decisions.
I will balance innovation with implementation.
Grade 5 Learning Leader – B. Simmons
Think: Make: Learn is the beginnings of a TMC School event celebrating our crafters,
designers, engineers, or anyone else with a do-it-yourself attitude.
What is THINK: MAKE: LEARN?
Do you remember Show and Tell from when you were younger? THINK: MAKE: LEARN is a lot like that - a friendly and welcoming showcase of creativity, invention and resourcefulness. It's a chance for you to show what you are making and share what you are learning. Whether you are a student or a teacher, there is a space for you at THINK: MAKE: LEARN.

What can I
share?
Almost anything that you have created with your own two hands. Clothing, origami, technology, art, models, and woodworking are just a few of the possible talents we hope to display.

Transportation Services is asking
parents to provide feedback on their experience with bus service during the
2014/15 school year. Parents of students taking yellow school buses and Calgary
Transit are encouraged to complete the short survey to provide information
about your interactions with our bus carriers and CBE Transportation staff. We
hope to get a better understanding of what we are doing right and identify
those areas that may need improvement. Responses will be analyzed and may initiate change in our practices.
The survey will be available online from February 2 to 16, 2015 and will only take a few minutes to complete.
