TMC ADMIN REPORT
PLANNING FOR THE FALL
Hoping for a smooth transition this year for grade 3 students going into grade 4. Had the kids write letters, both students from TMC to Tuscany students and vice versa. Hosted a parent evening for parents to come and meet some of the staff and tour the school. Had the Grade 3’s on a visit to tour the school  and were led by a grade 4 and grade 8 student. Had some great conversations and questions with the students, hoping they will be excited to come in the fall.

WHAT’S BEEN HAPPENING
Thank you to all the volunteers and Teachers who took part in the Think Make Learn Move event that was run by Mr. Simmons and Mr. Jorgensen. There were 143 teams of students made up of either grades 4,6,8 or 5,7,9. Each team was given a goal to move a marble 1.5M and given different challenges to overcome to be successful. Students earned tickets to purchase recycled items to help them construct their apparatus. It was a great group effort by all and the kids had a great time. It was nice seeing the older students helping and encouraging the younger ones.
Competed in Thermopoly, a 5 km long obstacle course (mud run), 50 kids from grades 6-9 competed as well as a team of 8 teachers. There were about 500 participants from 30 schools.
Grade 9 Farewell Committee has been working on the Grade 9 farewell which will be a dance followed by a day at Calaway Park. Kids are really looking forward to it.
Volunteer Tea-the kids had a great time putting it on for the parents. The band students performed for a Coffee House feel and the artwork from the Art & Soul was showcased for parents to view.

FEEDBACK FROM PARENT SURVEY ABOUT CONFERENCES
Conferences-There was a survey sent out to parents regarding conferences wanting feedback about methods of communication and if you had received the info you needed or were looking for to understand your child as a learner. There were only 55 responses from a group of about 600 families. The feedback was about 50/50 in terms of parents feeling like they had the info they needed. So those parents were asked how the school could do better and how things could be improved. Hoping for a better turnout/response for the next survey.

TMC ACTIVITIES/INITIATIVES
New year is shaping up to be a great year and we moving forward in a positive direction and with a great school council team on board. Hoping for more participation next year and to increase attendance to school council meetings. So everyone bring a friend!
The next Titan Lunch will be June 18-need more volunteers
Pam needs more volunteers for the new Fitness Center build next week.
When the Fitness Center is operational next school year there will probably be a schedule of some sort laid out for students so that not all 900 students will be using the equipment at one time. Start off with something organized and see what the interest is from the different grades and age groups. Looking at doing an unveiling of some sort for the new Fitness Center when school starts in September. Possibly a welcome assembly at the beginning of the year with a picture slide show of the progress and completion (Mr. Jorgensen has been taking pictures) and maybe a safety orientation and a how-to of how it was built for the kids to flow through it like a circuit. The TCC Harvest Festival in the fall is doing a celebration of some kind to unveil the park to the community.

NEW BUSINESS
Concern was raised over the skateboarding/longboarding issues in the community between our youth and residents. Some parents have been trying to be a presence making sure the kids are cleaning up their garbage and that both residents and kids are being kind to each other and trying to share the pathways.
TCC is working together with the community to see what the needs and wants of the kids are. A new Youth Coordinator named River has been hired by the Tuscany Club and he is looking forward to working with the kids and leadership groups in the community to resolve issues. Possibly look at having him come into the school in the fall to talk to the students. Tuscany has been brought forward for a Community Enhancement Grant  through the City of Calgary, those funds could possibly be used for a longboard park of some sort in the community.
