- Thank you to parents(experts) who have come in to share their expertise with the students, always looking for more to come in and share with the students
- Have devoted $1500 for each grade level from fundraising dollars for experts and artists
- $4000 went to the phys.ed department for having dance instructors come in and teach the kids
- Calgary Public Library Book Truck will be coming to the school every second Wednesday starting March 2. Students can use their public library card to take out books. Will be alternating grades (4,6,8 one week and 5,7,9 the next week)
- Projections next year for how many students will be attending TMC is 817, currently there are 935
- The budget will be coming out early-mid April so will have to wait for that to look at staffing for the fall
- Will be hosting an Open House in the spring for parents to have a chance to look at the school outside of parent/teacher conferences
- Traffic Rally will be taking place on March 10 to promote driving and traffic safety in our community. All three schools will be participating. We will start off at TMC at 8:15 and walk up to St. Basil and Tuscany School for 8:40. Flyer will go out to homes around the schools by Mar 8 to let them know what is going on and to encourage participation. Come show support, dress fun and make positive message signs to be visible
- Follow up to the way marks are recorded on transcripts. There should be a generic code recorded and not an alpha numeric code. Ex a 4 should not show as 100%. If you need a transcript printed ask to have it printed with the generic codes

- Bell times have not been confirmed yet as waiting for the bussing schedules
- CBE Budget input –March 9 @ Robert Thirsk High School @ 7pm
- There have been many students arriving late for school, please leave with enough time to allow for students to arrive to school in time for the first bell

TMC
ACTIVITIES/INITIATIVES
- Titan Lunch-next Titan Lunch is Thursday April 14th and we are in need of volunteers. The grade 8 classes are in need of volunteers the most every month as it seems that they don’t have many volunteers every month.
- Thank you to all the parents who answered the call for muffins to be brought in to the school for the Debate , it was amazing how many muffins were brought in in those two days. Thank You!!
Positions needing to be filled
Council Secretary
Titan Lunch Coordinator
NEW BUSINESS
Science
Olympics
- feedback from grade 4 parent was that the instructions for the challenge were very vague and hard for the grade 4’s to follow, it was hard for the adults to follow. Even though it was a work at home project maybe having a few extra scheduled lunch time meetings were the kids had a place to meet and some guidance from a teacher would have been helpful. It was hard to get 5 kids together after school with activity schedules. Having the teacher check in with the groups and parents to make sure the kids were on task and moving forward might have been helpful as well.
- Concern brought forward from a parent about how to get students involved in school clubs and extracurricular activities when they seem hesitant to be involved. Approach the teacher and ask them to encourage the student, perhaps having the conversation with the teacher and not the parent might make them more interested.
Peter Pan
Drama Production
- trying to figure out how to include as many as possible to view the show
- question was asked if the students from Tuscany School were going to be able to watch it, perhaps taping the production and playing it at the school for all the kids to view?
- Lisa M was going to ask her employer Chair Flair if they could donate some pipe and drape for the production

- Possibility of having basketball nets put outside, would there be room and what is the cost associated?
- Many of the older grades go across to the Tuscany Club to play basketball at lunch hour.
- Look at adding a One Time Donation option at the beginning of the school year, people could donate a lump sum to the school to use towards artists, experts etc.
- Should the fees be increased at the beginning of the year to include field trip costs up front instead of paying for them throughout the school year?
